Hailing from Havana, Cuba, Raphox now creates his highly-artistic compositions in the melting pot of Miami. He is aware that only through fusing several genres, including the ones from his home island, can his stellar productions make a mark in the huge world music market. Raphox is first and foremost dedicated to the uniformity of his productions, meticulously crafting beats and sequences into a cohesive whole. One of his first endeavors was a remix of Swamp Dogg's 1970 funk opus "Synthetic World," which had the music world sit up and take notice, garnering rave reviews. Now firmly ensconced in Miami, Raphox draws upon his musical roots and expands upon the whole premise of down-tempo lo-fi electronica, incorporating hip-hop and Afro Cuban elements to create something entirely new, ultimately expanding the genre. His latest offering, the brilliant new EP, "Cuba Lo-fi," is underpinned with old school Cuban rhythm and a chill cinematic vibe that draws the listener in with each successive track. Expect more magic to come from this highly individualistic artist.
